Santa Claus

Santa Claus is the man, with his beautiful red costume that is edged whit white fur and comes to our homes with gifts, Christmas after Christmas. Santa is the man who receives all the wishing lists from all children around the world and he is the man that helps creating a joyful and happy Christmas.
Santa Claus descends from Saint Nikolaus and from December 6^th. When he during the middle of the 1900 – century arrived to North America thru the Dutch tradition and as Sinter Klaas he became very quickly Americanised and renamed to Santa Claus. Santa Claus or Santa has become that Santa as the children associate the Christmas with. An elderly man with a round belly, a beard white as snow and with his friendly: ho, ho, ho wishes all a very merry Christmas. Here in Sweden the Santa has been borne out of that myth. Earlier, it wasn’t the Santa who brought the gifts; we had instead a goat that handed out the gifts to the families. But even he, exactly as Santa, filled with mysticism and excitement.
