During the 1700- and the 1800- century did the Swedish tradition about a Lucia bride grown up. It was properably in the beginning of the 1800 - century as the kinkenjes tradition at first in Västergötland transmitted to Day of Lucia and with her dressing now changed its name to lussebrud (lusse bride). The fist time it is noticed is in1764 at Horns residence north from Skövde. That this practical joke happened just at the day for Lucia can depends on this appearance position in the elderly peasant tradition, partly that at castles - and in mansion environment were the custom with the lusse bride properably started, could associate between the name Lucia (and its connection to lux "light") and to the lightwreth. It was moreover on several parts of Sweden an older type of dressing up to lussegubbe (old man dressed up for the occasion), one of the Christmastimes many practical jokes made by beggars. This Lucia Celebration lived as a local tradition in landscapes around Vänern but began during the 1900 - century later parts spreading to among other people high school and so even in other parts in Sweden. Even the west Swedish Students in Lund and in Uppsala brought the tradition with them
